This page used to pretty much tell me how to set up a new machine (all my programs, etc.), but it's almost entirely useless to me now that I use linux on the desktop.
My process is now:
- fire up new machine
- get dropbox
- apt-get as needed.
- (soon I need to integrate my buddy Kanno's process of using github to store his dotfiles.)
I'm keeping this here for posterity, because this is really how I used to work and it now makes me laugh.
This is primarily for the next time I set up another system to work on... These are the things I use on a daily or close to daily basis. Work type stuff:
- Eclipse PDT
- TortiseSVN
- Notepad++
- PuTTy now with the awesome PuTTy connection manager (or terminal on mac)
- mySQL query browser
